In today’s society, it’s almost impossible to take a step without offending someone and soon, Starbucks Coffee will become another example.

A group of individuals were to protest outside the coffee company’s global headquarters Wednesday at 10 a.m. with a three foot tall coffee cup. The giant-sized cup accompanies a number of “writings” which they will send to Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz.

What, may you ask, was it that sparked enough outrage to warrant a protest against the coffee company? According to Q13 news, the outrage came from the company’s campaign in which baristas wrote the words “Come Together” on cups as an encouragement to members of Congress to reach an agreement on the fiscal cliff.

According to sources, the protesters say the slogan “Come Together” supports deep cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and other government services.

My suggestion to this paper would be to fact check yourselves. As a member of Working Washington I know for a fact that the impetus for this action was Howard Schultz’s participation with a group known as fix the Debt. A corporate organization that lobbies for corporate freebies and reduction of TRUST FUND benefits.
