Overview
LeBar Horse Camp has large evergreen conifers and hardwoods that provide plenty of shade. 13 campsites are available that accommodate a horse trailer and camper with room to hitch horses to a highline near each camp unit. Campsites at this location is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you are able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Scan & Pay feature on the Recreation.gov mobile app. Please download the free Recreation.gov mobile app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. Adding a payment method to the app before arrival is recommended as well.There are 13 campsites in LeBar Horse Camp that will accommodate a horse trailer and camper with room to hitch horses to a highline near each camp unit. - From US Highway 101 turn west onto the Skokomish Valley Road (6 miles north of Shelton and 7 miles south of Hoodsport). Drive west on the Skokomish Valley Road from the George Adams State Fish Hatchery for about 5 miles to FS Road #23. Turn right onto FS Road #23 and drive 9.0 miles to FS Road #2353. Turn right onto FS #2353 and drive approximately 3/4 mile to the South Fork Skokomish River Bridge. Cross the bridge and make a sharp left turn onto FS Road #2353. LeBar Horse Camp is located 1/2 mile beyond this point on the right of the road.

This campground is for visitors with stock. Campers without stock should camp at Brown Creek Campground. Please be aware that recreating near and in horse campgrounds can provide a different experience than when camping in a non-stock campground. Horse camps are designed to include more for parking and hitching/corralling stock reducing areas for other activities. The presence of stock in the camp can also create different noises and smells than at a non-stock campground.
