Overview
Lower Falls Campground is located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Visitors enjoy several waterfalls in the area and access to the Lewis River Trail. The campground is open from mid-May through October.Near the campground are several trailheads that provide visitors with a variety of recreational opportunities. There are hiking trails, mountain bike trails, horse trails, and motorcycle trails within 10 miles of the campground. The Lewis River contains rainbow, cutthroat, and bull trout as well as whitefish. The area is catch and release only.For facility specific information, please call (661) 702-1420.Lower Falls Campground offers 43 standard sites that accommodate both tents and RVs (36 feet), but no hookups are available. Picnic tables and campfire rings with grills are provided, as are composting toilets and drinking water. The campground is just off the Lewis River at an elevation of 1,300 feet. The campground road is paved and shaded by large evergreen trees. - From Portland or Seattle take I-5 to exit 21 for WA-503 E toward Woodland/Cougar. WA-503 will turn into FR 90, turn right at the Pine Creek Visitor Center. Lower Falls Campground will be on your right hand side after you pass mile marker 28 on FR 90.

As of mid April, the road (Rte 90) into this campground is in pretty rough shape. It is recommended that only high clearance or 4 wheel drive vehicles attempt this drive! Hopefully this situation will improve as the weather does by the time the campground opens in May.
