74 Years of Bull Riding, and Enumclaw’s Rodeo Is Still Off Seattle’s Radar
A travel creator is calling the Enumclaw Pro Rodeo one of Washington’s best summer day trips—and with 74 years of history and three Rodeo of the Year titles, it’s tough to disagree.
ENUMCLAW, WA—One of the longest-running rodeos in Washington state happens right here every summer, and most of the Seattle weekend-trip crowd still hasn’t figured that out.
Travel creator @travelinspo_hilary spotlighted the Enumclaw Pro Rodeo in a recent TikTok, calling it one of the best summer day trips in the state for anyone within an hour of Seattle. According to @travelinspo_hilary, the rodeo has been running for 74 years and has been named Rodeo of the Year three separate times—bull riding, barrel racing, broncs, the works, set against the backdrop of the Mt. Rainier foothills.
What doesn’t show up in most day-trip roundups: proceeds from the event fund local youth programs, which means the ticket money stays close to home. For Enumclaw residents, that’s not a footnote—it’s the point.
Seventy-four years in, it’s still the kind of thing you have to be told about by a friend. Or, apparently, TikTok.
