Drive-Up Fire Lookout Near Enumclaw Trades Sweat for Rainier Views

A fire lookout reachable entirely by car offers some of the best Mount Rainier views in Washington, staffed by volunteers and open to visitors from June through September.
ENUMCLAW, WA—One of Washington’s most visitor-friendly fire lookouts sits just outside town, and getting there requires nothing more strenuous than a drive. Unlike most lookouts that demand a full day’s hike, this one lets you pull up, step out, and take in sweeping views of Mount Rainier from June through September.
Volunteers staff the lookout during open hours, so the usual rules apply: be respectful, stay on trail, keep dogs leashed, and pack out whatever you bring in. A pit toilet is available at the trailhead.
Bringing a camera is strongly encouraged, which, given an unobstructed sightline toward Rainier, is probably the least surprising advice anyone has ever given in this zip code.
