Nolte State Park’s 1.4-Mile Loop Is a Toddler Trail Worth Repeating
The family-friendly loop at Nolte State Park, just outside Enumclaw, is drawing repeat visits for its manageable distance, playground, and seasonal swimming.
ENUMCLAW, WA—Nolte State Park has a quiet reputation among families with young kids, and @southsoundfamily is making it a little less of a secret.
In a recent Instagram reel, @southsoundfamily calls Nolte their go-to toddler trail and says they keep coming back. It’s easy to see why: the park offers a 1.4-mile loop trail, a playground, picnic areas, bathrooms, fishing, and seasonal swimming—all in one stop. A Discover Pass is required for entry, which runs $30 annually or $11.50 for a one-day pass.
Nolte sits along the Deep Lake shoreline on the Enumclaw Plateau, making it a genuinely short drive from town with enough variety to fill a half-day without anyone melting down. The swimming area is seasonal, so summer visits get the full package.
For families already familiar with the area’s bigger trails, Nolte is the rare park where the parking lot and the picnic table are not a consolation prize.
