Wildfire Closures Push Hikers to Naches Peak—and They’re Not Complaining
With the Sunrise area still closed due to wildfires, one family found a silver lining on the Naches Peak Loop trail on Rainier’s northeast side.
ENUMCLAW, WA—When one road closes, another trail opens. With the Sunrise area at Mount Rainier National Park still shut down due to wildfire activity, @ericakost and her family took their hike to the Naches Peak Loop instead—and by her account, the detour delivered.
